I’ve been a serial dieter most of my life, always jumping on the latest trend to try lose weight fast. I never took the time to learn about nutrition or what the best eating strategies were for ME. I needed to completely rethink my relationship with food and break the cycle -- but I still wanted to lose at least 10 pounds.
AVA helped me set my weight loss goals, then they showed me how to do it with small but strategic changes to my day-to-day habits and with a plan that was completely personalized and actually easy to execute in my busy life. The feedback I got was easy to follow and totally made sense. Plus I never felt hungry, deprived or like I was “dieting.” They helped me find healthy foods that are easy to make and that I actually like eating. I hit my goal, no sweat!
Of course I feel great about the weight I’m losing, but I’m even happier that I’m feeling more like my old self. I’m more energetic, sleeping better and definitely ready to take it to the next level. I’ve actually set up a challenge with a few of my friends. They kept asking who I was texting with, so now we’re all using AVA to help us stick to the changes we’re making.
For years, anytime I wanted to lose weight, I would head to the gym. Unfortunately lifting weights and running on the treadmill wasn’t doing it for me anymore. I guess I just needed to clean up my act when it came to what I was eating.
First I needed to get honest about when and what I was eating. I’d tried keeping a journal before but looking up the calories took too long, and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t getting it right anyways. Once AVA took over, I started to see where I was going off the rails and they helped me figure out what to do about. I’ve still got more weight to lose, but I just feel more in control and know that this is a realistic strategy I can stick with.
These days I’m definitely on a healthier path. I’m far from perfect, but AVA’s helping me figure out how to balance out for the days when I’m not as on track as I’d like to be. My next goal is to get even more out of my workouts. It’s definitely easier with someone who can point me in the right direction and stick with me through the ups and downs.
I’ve never been the healthiest eater -- but when I had children, I wanted to set a better example. Plus, my youngest has food allergies, so things have gotten a lot more complicated around here. I needed to start making better decisions for all of us and make sure I didn’t pass on my bad habits.
I started dropping weight right away just by making just a few simple changes to our everyday lifestyle. I’ve slimmed down with weight loss programs before, but it always comes back. The changes I’ve made with AVA have stuck around because they never pushed me to do too much at once. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I felt supported. They took over the hard parts -- like figuring out what to make for dinner! -- and eating healthy became one less thing for me to worry about.
Now that I’ve got the family on track and am finally losing my baby weight, I’m actually thinking about testing out a vegetarian diet (my 8-year old claims she doesn’t want to eat meat anymore). I’m talking to AVA about how to get there, but I’m excited to give it a try.
