It’s a great feeling seeing those words on the screen. For any entrepreneur, it’s thrilling when the business you’ve put heart and soul into makes its debut. But when you’re building something that has the potential to change so many people’s lives in such a big way, it really takes it to a whole new level. And that’s how our entire team feels about launching AVA.
The fact is, food is at the center of all of our lives. Of course, we need nourishment to survive, but eating and what we choose to eat is about so much more than survival. It’s a lifestyle …it’s childhood memories of grandma’s cookies and dad’s pancakes … it’s everyday, quiet dinners at home and special moments at a favorite restaurant.
So how is it that for so many of us, food has become an enemy? We’re afraid to eat too much … or to eat the wrong things. As life goes by, we worry about everything from the freshman fifteen to whether our kids are getting enough veggies. Add to that serious health conditions and food allergies, and things only get more stressful.
We all have stories about our relationship with food and wanting to make healthy changes. But figuring out how to get there can be a struggle. The more we looked at our own experiences and talked to friends and families, we started to realize how widespread that struggle really is.
But we also knew it didn’t have to be that way. Together, with the right team, the right investors and the right tools and technology, we knew we could provide a roadmap for people who wanted to get back to a healthier relationship with food. After all, our leadership team has dedicated their careers to building products that challenged the status quo and forever changed consumer experiences, from banking to education and the way we find jobs and shop online.
We call what we’re doing here at AVA “intelligent eating.” Our solution provides a more sensible way for people to enjoy a healthier relationship with food through personalized meal programs, dedicated nutritional coaching and a technology that makes it very easy to track and monitor what you’re eating. Of course, we also know that for most of us, this will be an ongoing journey. Our hope is that finding AVA is the start of an exciting and fulfilling journey for each of you -- and we can’t wait to hear how your journey progresses.
